Field Drag Two Tractors Are Used To Drag A Large Boulder Across A Field. The Larger Tractor Exerts A Force Of 3200 N...?

Two tractors are used to drag a large boulder across a field. The larger tractor exerts a force of 3200 N...? - field drag

Two tractors are used to draw a large stone in a field. Largest tractor exerts a force of 3200 N on [120 °]. The smaller tractor pulls with a force of 2500 N [65 °]

[a] Determine the resultant force on the rock

[b], the balancing force

[a] Determine the resultant force on the rock

Large: (3200 * cos (120), 3200 * sin (120) = (-1600.2771)
Klein (2500 * cos (65), 2500 * sin (65)) = (1057.2266)
from: (-1600.2771) + (1057.2266) = (-1600 1057.2771 2266) = (-543.5037)
arctan (5037/-543) = -84 degrees (bad quadrant!)
Correction: -84 + 180 = 96 degrees
Magnitude = sqrt (-543 ^ 2 + 5037 ^ 2) = 5066 [N]

Answer: 5066 [N] to 96 [degrees]

Good luck.
